Drawing Finn Bálor

There is a professional wrestler named Finn Bálor, and his body paint is badass. So I thought I would take up the challenge of trying to draw him, but I'm going to draw this picture much differently. Previously in my other drawings I didn't take too much time drawing them because they were simple images, basic lines and a few colours. But this drawing will be a lot different.

This project isn't a day or even a week job, this will take me quite a few months to finish so I will try and keep this blog post updated.

I first started where I always start when drawing, the eyes. This process part of the drawing made me realise how long this piece was going to take. It took me about an hour to do this tiny part of the picture.

The next thing to do was make progress to his other eye. I started making a lot of progress in shaping the face with visual guidelines for his nose the side of his head. This once again took a few hours to draw.

Next it was time to put in more time colouring in more of his face. I decided that I wanted to do the top half his head before I went onto doing beard. Starting to take shape.

Next I finished his cheek because I wanted to finish that part before I started to finish his forehead.

I then started working on the forehead and then tweeted the progress to @wwebalor and he favorited this and this one.

Next was to finish the top part of his forehead and work on the orange face paint on the side of his head.

To be continued...

Sky Saga: New game, new things to draw

Sky Saga is a new game currently in alpha. It's a block building game sort of like Minecraft but with much better graphics, an amazing art-style and concept art by Nick Miles. Normally I wouldn't be into these sort of games but they don't interest me that much, but what stood out is the art style.

I decided I would re-create a few of the art pieces on the Sky Saga website.

Creating branding for my sort of business?

I have decided to do a start on my online streaming service for game tournaments called 'First Pick'. I've had this idea for a while but hadn't decided on a name or how I want to brand it.

Chaos Heroes online official announces that they will be closing it's doors.

I can draw! sort of...

Back in school, art wasn't my favorite class, but over the years I seem to be getting better.

One of the games I have been looking forward to (yes you will see more game related posts) Chaos Heroes Online opened it's doors to community testing. CHO has a very nice art style so I thought I would try and draw using flash.

Here you go:

I also created a lovely wallpaper using assets from the CHO website which they loved and created posters of:

Chaos Heroes Online also loved my art so much they tweeted and posted them on Facebook!

And that's it for now!

My first blog post... hopefully

Daniel Evans - Website Development, Animation, Graphics, Filming and video editing image.

How do I start my first blog post... hello?

I never thought I would see myself making a 'blog' because I wouldn't really call myself a writer due to the fact I have dyslexia (hence my numerous spelling and grammar mistakes soon to come). When I think of a blog, I think of a 15 year old girl writing about her day like a diary or something. But I guess I should pull my finger out and make a blog whilst my website is being created.

I guess I should really start off with the normal jazz: who I am, what I do etc...

Well my name is Daniel Evans and as my blog title says, I make media... like lots of people do. I went to a Welsh high school in North Wales and left with no GCSE qualifications. For the past six years I have worked my way through college and began well, making media.

I finished college with a Distinction and 380 UCAS points, in total the equivalent of A levels.

I am now in university studying Website Development (Information and Communications) in Manchester.

Outside of university my hobby is my career in way. I create graphics and I better my skills in coding with HTML and CSS. Like most 'teenagers' and young people, I love to play games. Other than just playing games I like to help developers by creating community content such as a podcast or even art. I am always looking forward to helping independent game developers and hopefully to some day work in the gaming industry, in some way shape or form.

Well that's it for now, it's 3AM and it's probably time to try and get to sleep. I will try and post once a week or more. Thanks!
